What he did is disgusting, clearly he has no consideration for others so is not fit to be a member of the community.

Yes, but it does seem that he is not entirely well and suffers from a range of issues... not an excuse as such, and he is still mentally fit to stand trial and do the time, but I don't think this is a simple case of 'a mean bad guy plotting some evil did'.

I thought all the prisons were full and they're locking up someone who wrote a few nasty pieces on the Internet?

He's obviously not a full shilling though.

Just create a community on the interweb for convicted trolls to troll each other and confine them to that.

Still, imagine what he would have got if he came on here for advice after his car had been crashed by a garage, and wanted to see what repair he was entitled to...

Back to the OP. Does seem harsh, but it's more about sending a message. I don't think he's the first who had done this, but the world and particularly the internet would be a nicer place if he was the last.

I thought everyone knew that I'd be on about the Kenyan shillings and not the British money of yesteryear.

Didn't shillings go out at the same time as not locking your doors and jobs for life?

According to the report he suffers from Aspergers syndrome and is an alcoholic. Sounds like he was almost experiencing an internet form of Tourette's. So lock him up at great expense to the taxpayer = society's standard response to mental illness. Might have been cheaper to get the guy some treatment.:dk:

I can't help wondering if he'd already been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome or whether he'd done a Gary McKinnon and been suddenly and conveniently diagnosed in adulthood when facing criminal charges.

Actually, I despise this modern tendency of 'grief whoring', ever since 'Dodie and Di' got involved in that impromptu safety testing in France, every sad-sack in the country seems to think its acceptable to go round claiming to be devastated by the death of total strangers, all these trashy roadside 'shrines' to celebrate where some crack-head drug-runner got shot, or a ******-up teen stumbled into the traffic......

must go, sounds like someone hammering the door dow

To a parent the loss of a child in any circumstances puts you in a place that is beyong grief. People being sympathetic can in itself be difficult but understandable. For some faceless turd to come along and violate your grief in such a public fashion deserves more than just contempt.

At a minimum the parents should be alowed the opportunity to explore the offenders bravery in a face to face meeting.

The sudden emergence of mitigating circumstances should come as no surprise to anybody. Our first line of justice is always now to look for a defense at any cost AKA Milly Dowler trial.

This disgusting little turd should be dragged out for us all to see then shot.

Not the first time he'd done it though
I'd never personally heard of the offence he was convicted of

The singular irony is that Natasha McBride allegedly committed suicide after "cyber bullying" on a website.

Quote:- Geraint Williams spoke out at the start of an inquest into the death of public schoolgirl Natasha MacBryde.
He was told she threw herself under a train hours after she was sent an abusive message by an anonymous bully on a social networking website.
The site, called Formspring, allows users to post messages or questions anonymously, and has previously been linked to the suicide of an American student.
The inquest heard yesterday that 15-year-old Natasha had also been teased by members of an all-girl clique at her £10,000-a-year school in the weeks leading up to her death.
Her body was found beside railway tracks just 150 yards from her home in the early hours of St Valentine’s Day this year.
The previous evening, she had searched online for the ‘easiest way to jump in front of a train’.

Anyone see a pattern here? Maybe Facebook and all these other PORTALS TO SELF ABSORBTION should come with a Government health warning? Danger! --- logging on to this website may damage your self esteem.
