I looked at examples priced between 3 and 10k... for 3K you are getting rusty sheds.. for 10K you are getting cars like this. I didnt pay 10K though.

Concours cars from the countrys W123 specialist Mark Cosovich go for 15-20K.

A very nice car Jay, very nice indeed.

Thanks for the update on what you've done. Are the chrome air vents original MB? I wouldn't want to stray into modifying that if it were mine.

Yes they are... im not sure why but some cars got the chrome ones, some got black.. and they are getting rare as NLA from MB.

My yellow one always had chrome, but others, even higher spec cars got black which i think let the car down.

If I ever get my wheels ill take some pics now that its sitting as it should on new springs..

Jay, where did you get the ribbed mats from? My car is Date too, I didn't realise you could still get them in that colour.

Thanks Jay. I don't suppose you could post up a photo of the mats?

(Nice motor BTW, I'm pining for my old 280 CE now!)

Hi, can you get mats for a 115?

hi

i dont do the 115 because they are now so rare- but the german company i work with can make any pattern in the materials i have. they have lhd already-but im guessing your car is rhd? it would cost £10 extra to cut a pattern for your car but I would need an accurate paper template from you to fit your car- its easy if you have old original mats to draw around already but not so easy from scratch as the fitting is very important to get the best look

ps

jay i eally like your w123 coupe- much better without those awful side trims on the sills! it goes to show what can happen to these great old cars. original is best in my view- now its in safe hands the car looks fantastic

Sorry to hijack this thread...
To clarify, is this for the ribbed overmats or the carpet set itself? I would settle for either in the OE materials.

Welcome aboard.. i really am very impressed with the mats.. they dont seem to creep forward like other mats too..

I was so impressed that I had to buy some rubber mats to protect the ones I bought from you!

I will be ordering some for my SEC's soon.

Cheers

Jay

hi jay
nice to contact you again- when i first spoke i had no idea you were into the older mercedes in such a big way. i was looking at your w123 saloon- mine is an 84 all original paint and like you say you have to be very very careful to keep on top of rust under the wurth factory rubber undseal. it starts to lift on the edges- my r107 was just starting to peel in a couple of areas underneath. I had to completely grind it back to bare metal and reapply the rubber sealant- then paint in topcoat. you can still buy the sealer it has an orange peel finish like the original. my w123 wants a few bits doing- recently renewed rubber window seals on doors and put exhaust backbox on it. the rubber had peeled all around it and under the heat shields starting to rust so stripped it back to bare metal. i think my problem is that over the 13 years i've had it there is so much waxoil on it i cant see the rust under the rubber! putting new steering damper on it tomorrow.

ps
i have rubber mats over all my overmats in my cars too- and i clean both sets after every trip- people think i'm nuts. a guy came over to me at the petrol station last week when i was in my 190 and said 'Bloody Hell- Where's that car been, looks like it's been stuck in a time machine!'

Hi, mine's a 1984 230e with Date interior. Could you PM me with a price for ribbed overmats?

Thanks.

I am sooooo jealous of your car, wow what a wonderful example, looks as if it's just left the factory, a real credit to you.
What kind of miles has it done if you don't mind me asking!!!
Cheers Kurt
