Hi i saw this car being delivered at my local merc indy john haynes auto technics worthing (delivery driver said it belonged to clarkson) a few months back as a non runner. I heard he has spent alot of money getting it right (well it is a 600 :D ). He must have it back now and enjoying it.

I hope the photographer was also a passenger, in that LHD vehicle too

she must have leaned across him to take that picture on her mobile phone. very dangerous.
This is what provokes road rage. how about let the law enforcement deal with road issues? oops forgot cameras cannot catch phone users

Jeremy will, no doubt, love being linked to "brutal dictators". He'll probably have a good laugh at that!

Alas, they do.

The number of cases going through the courts where the driver is on the phone as they go through the camera is still going up.

They get prosecuted for both offences (and you see why they weren't concentrating, so no polite "£60 and 3 points please").

Also no seatbelt (although Darwin should still take some credit for dealing with them).

And stolen cars.

All from front-facing cameras of course.

Sad to think we share the road with these folks - and that as you approach your green traffic light, they are paying less attention approaching their red traffic light....

Obviously he should know better and equally obviously he can afford a hands free kit. Hard to excuse really.

sorry toni are you saying that someone doing 30mph and on a phone can be caught by a camera?

so if i do 20mph on a mobile phone, what will trigger the recording? or are the cops just watching thousands of footage to catch someone driving with a phone?
Please tell me how it works

You're dropping the speed each time - heh heh, you have to get up early to catch me out ya know:rolleyes:

Every picture is checked and if the camera has been triggered but the road markings do not corroborate the speed, there will be no speeding prosecution. However, if there is another offence, that can be dealt with (and will be).

This has come as a huge disappointment to a good number of car thieves.

And folks on their mobiles.

:)

I said 30mph first time .
i still do not believe that will work because what will trigger the camera except speeding?

Anything within range exceeding the trigger point of the radar. There are plenty of things that might do it.

That is why corroboration is required.

And as you regularly point out, these things aren't fallible.

Far better to have a nice Officer to deal with folks.

Down here we have camera's at some traffic light controlled junctions\roundabouts and the speed is pretty irrelevant.

John

That's because they will be "RED LIGHT CAMERAS"

My guess is John had worked that out for himself.

;)
