I cannot say how deeply disapointed I am.

a few weeks ago many of recieved e-mail (spam) from BBC asking if we had a SL55 AMG or knew anyone with one...

Jeremy Clarkson indeed did have one and they had to use his, he didn't even talk about the cool features and he was complaining how he didnt want to burn his tires..

rant rant rant, I will be e-mailing the BBC, I have a friend who is a lighting effects thingy guy at the BBC, maybee I should get a msg to JC saying how much of a **** he is.

all they do on Top gear is critisize cars....

/end rant

Hmm. I've gone right off (or further off) Clarkson today. First, in his Sunday Times Motoring column he said rude things about 'car marque' club membership - then he had the gall to put the 107 SL in his 'uncool' category (because Bobby Ewing had one in Dallas). He did redeem himself slightly by classing the 113 SL 'super cool' (on the grounds that Kate Moss has one).

And he was talking complete bollix about the Renault Avantime.

Couldn't agree more.

Top Gear is now absolute crap as a car show - it's the Jeremy Clarkson Show. He does minor celebrity interviews in front of an audience, with motoring being no more than a vague theme.

He's one of the self-promoting presenters who have pretty much ruined programmes like Top Gear for enthusiasts. The cars are just props for a few jokes and smart-****d remarks.

The guy who does the driving - 'Stig' - doesn't get to say a word!

You have to conclude that its because the show is aimed more at Clarkson fans, like the doughnut grannies, who would be turned off by too much about technical innovation.

Pity they didn't stuff his SL55 if he really was trying to get hold of someone else's rather than let them use his.

True, however I prefer TopGear to 'drivel' (or whatever it was called) on C4 (that's now been canned) and 5th Gear isn't much better IMO.

Rumor has it that the 'stig' is Tiff Nedell, however he can't be seen to be on BBC2 as his contract with C5 prohibits it.

Guy's dead right. Clarkson's form of "journalism" is only tolerable as a 5 minute slot in a half hour program. This suits his type of daft jokes and exaggerations. I suspect Mercedes are quite worried that he's bought an SL55. If Clarkson can decimate the sales of blue jeans, just think what he's going to do to that 2 year waiting list. In a few weeks they'll be going at a discount.

A friend was on the show the other week when he was focusing on RS's.

They said that you could tell he was about to arrive because all these minders / body guards appeared prior to him appearing round the corner in his Ferrari.

He then emerged from his car and looked around like like a King surveying his land <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hmmm.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hmmm:'> .

They could'nt decide what was louder, his voice or his ego <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/dontgetit.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':dontgetit:'>

I think Clarksons abuse of the Bentley was shamefull. Yes it was only the tyres he was burning , but that's not the point. If you borrow anything from anybody, at least treat it with  respect.

I e-mailed the BBC,

here is the response I got back: (Thanks for replying BBC)

Thanks for your e-mail. &nbsp;Hopefully I can clear up some misunderstanding.

The reason we were looking for a SL55 AMG was for the static shots only in
the studio as Jeremy's car was not available that day. &nbsp; We were always using
Jeremy's car on the track. &nbsp; All I was looking for was someone to being their
car, park it in the studio and be part of the audience, no one else would
have driven it.

Regarding Jeremy arriving with bodyguards and minders in his Ferrari is
totally untrue. &nbsp; Jeremy doesn't even own a Ferrari and he certainly doesn't
have any minders! &nbsp; However our guest that week was Jay Kay and he arrived in
a Ferrari with several entourage, including minders!

I'm really sorry if you have been offended by Jeremy's comments.

Best Wishes

Well in that case Jay Kay must of let him drive his car because he did arrive in a Ferrari and minders <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> .

On BBC2 yesterday there were two presenters from top gear.
They said that they had &quot;Pinched &quot; Jeremy's car for the track run with the mad driver, and that JEREMY DIDN'T KNOW. They said that he was livid when he saw his beloved SL55 being thrashed round the track. They also upset him by pointing out that his car came forth in the Gay Car of the Year award.
Couldn't have happened to a &quot;nicer chap&quot;. <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/withstupid.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':silly:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/baaa.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':baa:'>

I was so sorry for him I don't think. <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/banana.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':bannana:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/banana.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':bannana:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/banana.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':bannana:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/banana.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':bannana:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/banana.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':bannana:'>

He used to have a Ferrari 355 berlinetta, but he sold it basically the same day he went to the stealership to complain about the noise coming from the targa roof panels, and they suggested putting vaseline on the seals. &nbsp; He didn't want another Ferrari after that.

If you like &quot;Taditional&quot; Top Gear, then you always have 5th Gear on C5.

I generally like Clarkson, I find him funny and can see where he comes from, so I watch the current BBC2 TG show too, which is where I am going now - Sundays BBC2 8pm.

I am sorry but I find JC in the new show funny and piss taking. I know he is a loud mouth but I like the fact he says exactly what he thinks.
I use to work for a car rental company and he was actually banned by Vauxhall for driving their cars after the hammering he gave about the then New Vectra.
I would agree it would be good to get comments from the Stig as he really knows how to get around a track quick. I find it useless talking about the new car deals when they don t tell you where to go. I also find the audience arguing with him good as he is very arrogant but funny. IMO
I ALSO SHARE HIS HATRED FOR THE VECTRA.

Regards
Ian
