Juddering Problem (53reg S320CDI Auto)

When travelling at speeds above 50mph and accelerating, the car occasionally judders like its in too low a gear.

It may be a gearbox problem, although I have checked the gearbox oil and this was normal. Apart from going to an MB dealer, can anybody provide a likely diagnosis and/or solution?

Sounds similar to a problem I had, the shudder was mild at sixty miles per hour but increased as the speed increased, it also took more brake pressure to come to a full stop, it took two weeks at the stealership to establish that the problem was the torque converter, it was replaced and the problem was solved.

Well documented problem, search the technical area for details... I'd go for a glycol test at the dealer if I were you.

Good luck.

when you say the oil looks normal, what colour is it?

Won't be a glycol issue as they have a seperate oil cooler on that car.

It will be a torque converter issue 100%
