Hi Everyone,

My first post.
My cars battery is dead. It is located I the boot but unfortunately I can’t get in to the boot. The button in the doors and I. The key fob does not work and I am not able to open a boot with the metallic key either. Are there jump start points in the engine bay please? I found on the forum that guy stated that there is a positive one under the hood in passenger side. I have attached the photo. Is it the one? The car is RHD UK model.

The jump point is only in the engine bay for estate cars.

For saloon cars - You need to keep trying the physical key in the boot lock. You need to twist it in one direction, then pull the boot handle. This will physically unlock the boot latch (and not electronically unlock it).

that’s a shame. I tried to twist it but it twists only 45 degrees. I have read that it needs to twist in 90 degrees. Is it correct?

Carry on with the 'key' but just be gentle, have you sprayed any lubricant into the lock (WD40 etc) ? Keep manipulating it but be careful not to snap the key.

I would not normally recommend spraying into the lock mechanism as it could wash away the original lubricant, but in this case you have little choice.

From memory, it should be a 90 degree turn, then pull handle.

Passenger footwell has pre-fuse box with big cables (all voltage goes to engine bay here directly from boot battery), a good place to connect another battery or charger

Roll has got a 2008 saloon (I assume), so will not have these jump posts in the engine bay.

Morning gents, thank you for all your help. The boot handle was stack. Managed to pull it back and open the boot. All sorted.
