Went to a garage to get a drink, come back to the vehicle and put my key in. Nothing happened. Fob didnt unlock doors either, even though the red diode was flashing. Once you put the key in lines appear across the bottom half of the trip

Is there a release to get the car out of park??

My heads telling me its ignition related, is it EIS these have or something?

Any help appreciated.

Were you anywhere near a mobile phone mast? I know that they can affect the operation of key fobs etc., they're famous for it in the world of motorbiking, where key fobs are part of the alarm/immobiliser system. I was stranded in France at an autoroute toll car park for hours until a nice chap with a refuse truck came and parked his truck between the bike and the mast. Worked fine then. He said it 'appen all ze days'.
Now I carry a sheet of baking foil to act as a Faraday cage in case it happens again!
Sometimes just letting the bike/car sit away from the problem for a while can let it get its head back together..
