Just bought a C32, pick it up Saturday :D. Bit of a jump in power from my C200! It's going to be a long week  I'll miss the old w202 though. I put on about 40k miles in about 18 months with not much more than a water pump and a jammed boot lid (that was a bit of a bugger though) in the way of trouble. Great car! I spent over half an hour of the time I was giving the AMG the once over, checking all the toys out. A lot of gizmos to play with. I can see I'll be sat in the car park getting to know my way around them and my neighbors will probably think I'm mad! :)

Nice purchase. If you don't mind me asking what year, mileage and price did you pick the car up with?

Hi Starky

It's a 2002 with 87k and I paid 6750 with a B service and 3 months warranty. I'll put up some pic when I get it :-)

Sonds like you have got a good deal there optic, I'm a little bit jealous..... Iv been waiting for a while for the right one to turn up with out any luck yet. Never mind Im sure I'll find it soon. Enjoy your ride and I look forward to seeing some picks.

I know the feeling. Isn't it funny that as you get older the excitement of birthdays and christmases seem no leave you, and then it passes on to your kids. And then when buying your self a new toy e.g car power tool... You realise it's never really left you.

Only Friday to get over and your there good luck.

Wow! :-)

Well, I picked her up today and I've had a massive grin on my face all day :D That understated look and the quiet but impressively deep burble out of the back meant I kept turning the sound system down and putting the windows down all day. I drove like Miss Daisy until I got on the motorway but then, after being bated by my mate who gave me a lift to pick it up, I put my foot down: what a surge of adrenalin that was! Proper frightened myself after the C200. I keep finding cool little things I didn't know about too, like the N/S mirror tilting down when you put it in reverse , Kid with a new toy for sure! Even the seat and steering column moving back and out the way when you go to get out, it all just makes me grin. Everything works on it too. Not bad for a 10 year old car. I have quickly learnt however to turn off the fuel consumption readout :). Still, there has to be a price for that kind of performance and I don't mind it at all.

I'm a very happy man right now and have to go to bed even though I want to get back out and go for another drive. It'll still be there tomorrow, I hope ;)

Are you sure you don't need to pop to the garage for some milk for the morning?

YES, YES, Oh no, I've had a drink to wind down :o Better leave it till the morning now. Got a feeling I might be up early though :bannana:

Nice car

How's things with the car after nearly a weeks worth of driving optic?

Well mate, it's been a few weeks now and I'm still very happy. I have just had the front ARB replaced as it had corroded and worn under the bushes. I put on new busshes and it still rattled about a bit  All good now though. Nice and smooth over the bumps and it has made the steering more positive too. That and a new sat nav CD is all I've done so far. All in all, well chuffed! :thumb:
