Just Brought E55 W211 Wagon. Needs help close to Slough for dynamic seats.

Just brought a E55 W211 estate and for some reason we believe either the dynamic seat Air pump is gone. Can anyone help with this or have a spare pump?

Basically when you turn on pulse, the light flashes and then turns off. From other treads we think it's most likely the pump as both seats do the same thing with pulse turned on and dynamic doesn't seem to do much.

The seat bolsters also don't seem to squeeze that we'll and the drivers side but the passenger side seems to be better.

Any help with this in the Slough area?

Brought from a specialists in Hindhead, Surrey today. Found the advert in Pistonheads.

It has the updated dash, with sbc hold, and the ability to change gears with the paddle without having to engage M mode.

The 804 build (pre update) also has SBC Hold and the paddle shift function without selecting M. There is nothing extra about the 805 build in this respect.

Re the dynamic seats, get the car on Star and it will pinpoint the problem you have. You have a local indy I assume? If not, Terry at W Gates in Harrow is your man. Give him a call.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that is not the updated dash. It's a 2003 804 build dash with slatted, not mesh speaker cover. You will have the 200mph speedo if its an updated (805) build although there are exceptions.

Anyway,enough nit picking. I hope you enjoy the car. Superb value for money.

I think the dash console was changed by Merc as I can find an invoice.

When we went to see another black 2003 saloon E55, it never had sbc hold nor could I paddle shift unless I was in M Mode.

Obviously the car had been sat at the dealer and it required a battery boost to start it. But just went out to check the seats and the pulse is working fine and the sunroof switch fault whereby I had to keep pressing the switch mutilate times for the sunroof to go back is now all working. Maybe it was the battery issue that caused this?

Just went in it again and the pulse for both seats works for 5 minutes and then it just false red. So I think that either I have an air leak or the pump is the problem.

Does anyone know the part number?

Anyone have a spare one?

The massage function automatically turns off after 5 minutes.

But the pulse function never turns back on afterwards. Even the side bolsters stop inflating? The same applies to the other seat even though nothing on that chair was touched?

Is that normal? On a friends updated 2005 model the pulse seems to turn back after the timeout.

I replaced the pump for mine, although mine does not have the active or massage seats but still has the pump for bolsters etc..

It is easy to get to, its behind the same panel as the sat nav drive in the boot, behind the panel on left hand side. It sits inside a black plastic cube shaped enclosure and is wrapped in foam padding, the air pipes can be seen coming out of the enclosure

The item I bought was part number 2038000048 and was bought from eBay, often described as central locking pump by sellers
