Just love E-class 211

Basically a W211 I’m super pleased with my W219 also. 8 years and virtually no issues throughout ownership. Not a spec of rust. Couldn’t ask for much more.

I have an early W211, E320 CDI. Not the fastest car I’ve owned but overall I’d say it’s the best all round car.

I’ve had mine over three years, over 30k and at nearly 140k on the clock. The way it feels and goes the mileage seems irrelevant. Genuinely still surprises me for what I paid and what it offers.

S211 sailed through MOT, no advisories - 2008 with 127.5K. Not exactly a neglected car, but not one that spends lots of time in a garage

I'll say it again - 211 E-class are just right!

I loved my 211. Very reliable, good at everything I wanted it to do, super-stress-free driving experience. Extremely well screwed together.

I did 50 k in mine before anything untoward occurred. In spite of the recent repairs which have totalled about 1k in parts it has been a pleasure, and I intend to keep her.

I think an S211 will be on my radar at some point ; I did hanker after another S124 , or even an S123 , but good ones are now scarce and expensive, and cheap ones are terrible .

When I do get one it will be a petrol one , my C270CDI cost me so much in repair bills I won’t have another CDI .

I would add that when I first started doing maintenance and then repairs i was slightly concerned about the complexity of some of the jobs. However with the guidance of some of this forum’s members, along with some common sense, all my dreaded jobs were achieved more easily than I first thought possible. Front suspension, including those odd lower ball joints: [emoji736] self levelling rear suspension [emoji736] brake pipes and bleed[emoji736]Auto transmission fluid+ filter+ flush[emoji736] it’s all doable with a few tools and some dexterity
However, had the above been done by my local garage or MB, the car would be for me an unaffordable car.

211’s are my favourite Mercedes (SLR aside :D) so much so I’ve owned more than a dozen of them including three AMGs!

Much as I love my 219 55k My six years with a 2005 top spec w211 e500 V8 were bliss. So smooth ,so quiet and in that (60k - 110k miles) time apart from routine running costs, one CPS and two keless go door handles was all it needed. 219 is going pretty much the same way on the door handles and has had one front airmatic strut after three years. Great base platform.

Had my 2009 W211 (E320) for 3.5 years 47,000 miles cost a bit more in maint than I hoped big ticket item being turbo + inlet port motor (£1500) but great place to be and been loving it. Only problem - went tyre kicking yesterday looked at nice GLE & then a W222 (S350d) after which I got back in my poverty spec E.

Washed E today and it's now looking nice again buy my god that S....
