Don't you love a lockdown? Not only have I finally managed to find the time to give the paintwork on my 212 a proper clean and polish my 15 year old son was really willing to help which made the whole process much easier.
- Gave each wheel an initial deep clean using Autoglym wheen cleaner
- Then I used my pressure washer to get rid of half the Sahara from the body work
- Then washed it with Autoglym cleaner (whatever it's called)
- Then dried it with microfibres
- Then tried using a clay mitt (can't remember the brand but didn't like it, prefer a lump of clay tbh)
- Then got my DA out for the first time and machine polished with Autoglym super resin
- Then a coating of Autoglym wax
- Finally, finished off the wheels with some polish, way & Autoglym tyre dressing
Really happy with the results BUT do really do the whole thing justice I'd like to get the wheels off and clean/re-wax the inner rims and get the outsides waxed up properly. But that will do for now.
Next I want to do the leather and engine bay and I have two questions for my OCD friends on here
Q1 I have Autoglym Leather Cleaner & Leather Balm - do you know of something that brings back the leather smell because the Balm doesn't really do that?
Q2 What materials/tools/techniques do you used to get the engine bay cleaned up?
