Just on the site I got my C43 from and came across a lhd S72 AMG 1996, original 85,000km, grade 4.5 (very very nice) opening bid 9,500,000 yen just under £62,000 and that's before your 20%vat and 10% duty plus shipping and fees that £85k minimum never seen one before thought it may be of interest to someone,

Since getting mine from Japan I'm spending a LOT of time looking at other cars I must really stop before I do something silly the wife already not pleased with latest one,

I couldn't think about this if I was looking to sink that kind of money into a single car it would have to be a SL73 but they are like chicken's lips I have looked even enquired when I lived in Brunei the alleged home of them but no luck there

Photos for auction site, not the best but that's all you get I'm afraid

How the market has changed...it wasn't all that long ago that you could pick these up for under £15k.

Under 15 to over 85 that's a big jump and that is if it goes for opening bid, price's seen to be on the up across the whole car market I've a few that have had quite a jump the only thing on the market that looks like a good buy I'd the 12c but even they are starting to firm up after free falling since launch

I had no idea these existed, what a thing this must have been in '96. The installation of that box under the screen on the right would have me worried about what other bodged horrors lie beneath sadly. Good luck finding another though, which I suppose is why the price.

Why would you fit that aftermarket box & screen.

Imagine buying a car from new and you got it ten years. You do whatever given there is 0 warranty and appreciation.

A lot of times you just wouldn’t know if something goes up in value or not.

Now take a 2016 E63S and people take it to a tuner.

In 20 years people will ask ‘why did anyone mess with a good engine’
