K reg R129 500sl clicking

Hi all.
First post on here.
I've owned a K Reg r129 500sl since March. Superb machine.
Two days ago the car started making some ticking/clicking sounds when it starts to move. Thought it was bearings so I took it to AS down the road to see if they could check (I refuse to deal with Drayton mercedes of stafford and my indie of choice for servicing will be SL shop in warwick) the guy had a listen as I drove and said it's from rear drivers side wheel and certain it sounds more like handbrake shoe.

Any ideas?

Changed the wheels recently? If the wheel bolts are slightly too long they catch on the handbrake mechanism as the wheel rotates.

The amg alloys and Conti tyres were on the vehicle when I purchased it. I've done around 1500 miles in it since March and it's been a dream until 2 days ago
