Ello guys need a little advice/help, basically the auto electrician Said I had a faulty k40 rmodule I'm my e220 cdi 2000 reg as my central locking was not operating via remote ( am I correct saying the k40 module has nothing to do with remote central locking but only for the starting side if the car ) I had taken a k40 module out of another e220 cdi 2001 reg and replaced it in to the e220 cdi 2000 reg , the 2000 reg starts up fine, but the one I had swapped the k40 module with ( 2001 reg ) does not want to start light come on ok, wires have been checked the starter has been directed from relay but still nothing but cranks, the 2000 reg one that starts has also previously had wires bridging from the k40 module to the small immobiliser ECU next to it, now, would the 2001 reg not be starting because of the different part numbers of the k40 module, I have also tried another k40 module from another e220 cdi which is also 2001 reg but still nothing, and would the 2000 reg one that starts only be starting because of the Brigaded wires from the k40 module and immobiliser ECU , also would the k40 module effect central locking ? All help appreciated in advance
