Does anyone know a good place (apart from a dealer) to get a new key blade cut? I managed to twist mine attempting to open my boot!! :D Boot opned buy key damaged....

Just get one from a dealer, it will be cheap enough and correct.

Do I need to take V5 etc ?

Any good locksmith can cut them on a mill...I had one done for a VW recently...5 minutes...perfect.

Would they stock the blanks to fit inside the plastic key?

Hadn't thought of that!!

Before buying a blank off ebay, it may be an idea to make sure that you can get it cut at a local locksmiths. May be a problem if the pattern you have is bend and/or twisted.

Genuine MB cost £32 (approx) for the pre-cut metal blade. You would need V5 / ID / Utility Bill.

I got one from MB Glasgow a few weeks ago for the W124 .

I had to produce the V5 and show the photocard part of my licence ; no need to take the car in or produce anything else . Each dealer seems to make up their own requirements .

Cost was £31-odds .
