Key Fob Problems !! Remote Unlocking

Hello , I'm having problems with my keys !!
main key started playing up , not locking or unlocking on the remote control .
I assumed it was flat batteries , and started using the spare while i ordered some new ones on Ebay . the new batteries came and i fitted them but it still wouldnt work ?? now my spare key fob is playing up ??
strange thing is they will both work if used after the car has been driven for 10 mins or so ?? is there some sort of problem with the reciever rather than the keys ?? does it have battery back up to recognise keys that maybe gets a charge while driving ??
any help please before i have to take it to a dealer and get ripped off ???

I've got the same sort of problem. ive got the new type of key(the one with three buttons on it). Ive tried replacing the batteries but the remote still only works when i'm within 50 cm of the car.??
does anyone know where the reciever for the remote is so i can check to see if its connected properly or if theres a setting to change the distance from which the remote works?
