My key won't turn and no zzzzzz mechanical noise when inserted.
I believe its the infrared type with RF door unlocking.

Can I disconnect the car battery for a reset of the receiver on the lock area?
What problems could occur when i reconnect car battery?
Alarm goes off?
Can live with the ECU re-learning driving style.

I don't have a second key:(

Also aware I might have to buy a new key  £150:devil:

Update.
Disconnected the battery for an hour, no change.
Car locks and unlocks OK, no noise when I insert the key in the ignition.

Is there a fuse for the Immobilizer, or is it OK as I can lock/unlock, I.E. there fed from the same source or same unit?

Starting to get worried now ££££££:(

Update #2
Tested battery voltage 12.2 - 12.3 disconnected.
Charging battery now will see what happens in about 30 Min's.

Update#3

Tested open circuit again after trying key, 12.6v

Will give a couple of hours on charge now.

Update#4

Bit the bullit (a big bullit) and bought another key.
Should be here tomorrow.
£194. Thank you very much Sir
It is the shiny chrome one though and with metal key bit, £10 to make I bet:devil:

God I hope it works, no idea how I'm pay £500ish for a new EIS.....

Perhaps a bit more than £10 to make it but most of the cost you pay for comes from the secure process of ordering/delivering a new key, from the hours people spend on your individual new key. Of course a spare part margin on top of everything.

Finally got it today, ordered it on Monday.
HQ at Milton Keynes forgot to put on the order yesterday:rolleyes:

It works TFFT! ;)
I was really worried it was gonna be the EIS.
How often to the EIS's go? Mines 11 years old now.
