Hi
Went to the car yesterday and opened it with my main key in my pocket using the keyless go feature. whilst in the car it flashed up key not recognized a couple of times but the car drove fine. When i stoped and got out i could not lock it via the keyless button and the key was totaly dead. Will it just need a new battery or is the key knackered. My spare key works fine. I never use the key in the ignition, it did have a new battery at the dealer under a year ago. Any thoughts guys.
Thanks
Chaz

Probably just needs new batteries, but I found mine was more reliable once I bent the battery retaining arm in the key fob down a little. It looks like it gets a tad loose with age. Like most things I guess...

Ian.

Thanks Ian i hope so dont fancy spending £250 on a new key.
regards Chaz

If your car is under 3 years old and the key has failed it should be covered under the warranty. If all it needs is a battery then that isn't too expensive.
