Is it supposed to be lit?

I seem to remember seeing pictures of the button being lit, but the Keyless GO button on my CLS55 is not lit.

Thanks.

dont think they light up, just a plastic button covered in plastic wannabe chrome!

thanks folks ..

shame there's no light .. it would look so good!

It would look very cool, but alas no, well not on mine anyway.

Which is worn on mine and cannot be replaced without replacing the entire stick

Just out of interest, what happens if the button is pressed whilst in motion?
I assume car has to be stationary for it to actully stop engine?

You get a nice red message on the dashboard telling you that you cant operate it in motion.

You also get different messages if you are not in P, if the key is not recognized and (if I recall right) if you press it long without pressing the break pedal. You can kill me, but I believe there is also a message if you press it while the key is inserted.

There is also a quick response if you press the top of the gearstick in order to shift into reverse: the engine stops :) This happened a lot after I got it.

BTW: On the W220 the top of the keyless go gear-stick is metal.
