I have a fault with the drivers door, handle needs replacing. Had CLS now 2 weeks but still can't get my head round how the locking system works. Can't be bothered to bore you all. If some kind person can PM me I would like a phone chat. If possible.

    Mac, its pretty simple

the black button locks and the switch behing the handle when you pull unlocks.

the handle failing is a common problem, german ebay is the cheapest for the handle, you will need to modify it slightly to clear the lock (LHD) but its fairly easy to replace.

Thanks for the reply MB wanted £79 to tell me that it may not be the lock it may be the control unit behind the door.

After spending 10 minutes with Richard from Command-online we have discovered that believe it or believe it not there is not a problem with the door locking, it all works as it should. Why would Mercedes say the door handle needs replacing. Maybe because he did not realize that it was Keyless Go system. On a steep learning curve with the CLS500.
