Keyless Start Works but Keyless Entry Doesn't

The keyless entry door handles were much improved on the W212.
It seems Mercedes knew of the problems with the 211 handles and redesigned the 212 ones.
I haven't heard or read of any failures on the 212 handles due to water ingress.

The longer torx bits turned up and managed to get the rear doors working a treat now as well. So all 4 now working for keyless go entry. First 211 I've come across with the keyless go option with all 4 not working.

I guess if you don't really use or value the feature then not much point going to the cost of replacing. SO I can see why maybe it hadn't been done before. If I were keeping the car I wouldn't have replaced them but it made sense to get done for a potential new owner as they may value and want the feature to work as it should.

I never have any issues spending money to resolve issues but I don't like wasting money. I think the solution I came across seems a better design than the MB OEM part on the 211 so hopefully it should last much longer. Doesn't seem great to have to replace the MB OEM part every few years if they fail again. Even every 5 years would be too short a life for me. Maybe 10 year plus life would be better.
