Dear All,

I own a Mercedes S320, 03 plate. Recently the car got stolen along with one key. The insurance company are fixing it at the moment but have come back to me and said that they can only give me 1 key and 1 keylessGo card, as the remaining keys/card have already been issued to this car!

I feel very uncomfortable with this, what happens if i lose the key? Is this correct or can you change the EIS unit so you are able to have brand new set of keys and card?

Thanks

Hello munzi,, As I understand it the other keys floating around in the world can be cancelled by MB, I do not know how they do it, but I have been told that this is done

Sure, a lost key can be disabled from the drive authorisation system. The mechanical key remains an issue unless the door locks are changed.

You should certainly purchase a second key/keyless go card. A new key can be added some 24 times (including the original keys from the factory).

But when you say you have one key and one keyless go card, do you actually mean you have one smart key, a new "keyless go smart key" and on older "keyless go card"? That makes two smart keys.
