KIck-down stopped operating?

Dear All,

The kick down on my C220 CDI Coupe has stopped working. It appears to be okay when driving away from cold and then stops operating after a short time. The vehicle appears to want to sit in top gear and when the accelerator is pressed slowly get faster instead of changing down. Please help.

You need to press harder to force a change down, just stomp on it.

Many thanks, I have tried that. it is however unfortunately something else. It worked perfectly in the past

make sure the carpet isn't interfering with the throttle movement.

What happens if you press and hold the selector lever to the left?

if you put foot to floor I am sure there is a switch that tells gearbox to kick down whatever.

Though, saying that, your gearbox is working different to normal so something is wrong. Sorry no idea what that is.

I don't think it is the carpet - I will check though - because the fault is not there when I start out but appears after 5 or 10 minutes.

I suspect it is a bit more technical

And try "kicking downg" with the select lever once you notice kickdown not working.

Other than that get the car on STAR and check for errors codes
