Oh dear it looks like the paint on two of my wheels has given up its grip..
It has been suggested that they have been resprayed at some point in the past.. What do you think?

I am in the process of acquiring some 16" Adharaz wheels.. I have always preferred the 5 spoke design for looks and ease of cleaning...

have you been a bit trigger happy with the jet wash?
The etch primer is still stuck fast, just the colour coat has lifted off.

Oh dear - they aren't pretty.

I've never seen rims drop their finish like that. Looks like they have never been lacquered - just sprayed.

Definitely a cheap previous refurb. If you wanted to keep them, acid clean, powder coat, by specialist off the car will have them like new and lasting a long time. Cost seems to be about 60 each incl. valve/balance etc.

what a fantastic new look ! just kiddin'. if u have the money to spend, get the wheels u like otherwise u can repaint them at a low cost

The ones I like

Thank you for your fast responses..
I dont really feel inclined to get my old ones refurbed as they arent my favourite design..

The ones I like are below..

Hi Will,
I have regularly used power washes on wheels of many cars BUT with the nozzle set to fan shaped rather than pin point...
Its only the 2 drivers side wheels that have done this..The other 2 are totally sound paint wise...

It just doesnt seem like its adhered very well at all.

Mine are starting to go too, same year as yours, S.

Suspect a poor refurb (previous owner) and over-zealous jetting (me). Will go for a decent refurb rather than new wheels. At £60 a corner, seems just about palatable compared to buying new wheels.

looks like peeling skin after a particularly bad sun burn

Just spoke to the guy who Im getting the wheels off..
I am getting them on Wednesday.. Cant wait...
He is a dealer who refurbs them to a v high standard.. Powder coated and all that..
I sent him photos of my wheels and he recons they have been tarted up by a mobile refurbisher...

Certainly looks like a poor refurb job and maybe too much tfr & pressure wash.....not sure how one can deduce done by a mobile refurbisher...
