I have been consistently been getting very poor fuel consumption on M111 230k engine. ~ 15L /100 km which gives me a range of about only 400-420 km on a full tank of fuel.
So I have be chasing down the problem for quite a while now. Changed the MAF (original Bosch), CPS, Injectors, Ignition Coils, Temp Sensor, MAP, Accelerator sensor, Both Lambdas and even the throttle body. No joy. In fact, doing all that seems to have made the problem worse - even poorer fuel consumption.

About the only sensors I haven't changed are the Crankshaft Position Sensor , the Knock Sensors and the ECU!

Now to my understanding, the load sensitive ECU also uses dual KNOCK sensors equipped on the block to detect individual cylinder knock.

Is it worth changing do you think ? Has anyone here done anything like that ?It apparently is quite a time consuming job removing these 2 knock sensors.

Thanks in advance
