B service due and want to supply the oil to keep cost down!

Preston/Nelson/Manchester/Leeds

I use Shell Helix 10w/40. Not let me down yet :bannana:

Think what MB use varies by dealership. My local are using Havoline Ultra 5w40.

Definately recommend Costco as mentioned avove, the saving more than makes up for the 30 odd quid joining fee compared to dealer prices.

try cosco mobil 1 0/40 dert cheap compared to halfords!!!

Thanks for the replies! Anybody in Leeds/Manchester able to help me out with a Costco card? I don't have one and I don't qualify!

P.S. On the Opie members site they have: Motul 8100 X-clean 5W-40 ACEA C3 Gasoline & Diesel lubricant for Euro IV engines at £25.19 inc. VAT for 5L- It meets 229.31 so is there any reason I would not use it?

Advice most helpful :)

Wow! Is that 229.31? You got a card? lol! Would be worth me driving over toward you at that price!

Many thanks

Thanks. Has to be 229.31 I believe as the car has something called a particulate filter. But thanks for taking the time and trouble

As others mentioned; CostCo is the way to go!

Usually there's
Chevron Supreme (5w/40) at £11 for 4l
Mobil 1 (0w/40) £23 for 4l
Chevron Recycled goop (?w/40) for something like £15 for 25l

Stay away from the large 20/25l Chevron jerrycans and you'll be fine!

As for a card, I'm nowhere near you, but should you fancy a trip to Watford/Reading costco; I'll be happy to oblige!

Watch someone offer to relay it to me now. If Pammy can get a large pouffe (ooeer missus!) up-country, some oil should be a cinch. :bannana:

(Only joking folks. However.... lol)

Happy to meet you at Leeds one day if that helps?

Think I can nominate someone for an additional card. It's about £15 if I remember, if you're not in a rush I can find out when I pop there tomorrow for some cheap michelins.

You should also be on the lookout for the ACEA C3 rating, which is specific to EU4 cars.

My Land Cruiser is very happily running on the Motul X-Clean from Opie Oils. £28 for 5 litres less a discount on for members of this fine forum.

Motul is not a big brand name in the UK but offers a high quality product that is sold at a premium in the US. Their full synthetics are Ester based, which is good news indeed.

I have a Costco card too - if you're in the Midlands (Birmingham/Wolverhampton/Walsall) and that suits you better then I would be happy to help if I could.

Unless you've used it already, you can have a "spouse" card for free. Don't worry it doesn't have to be technically your spouse. That's how both Dazzler Snr and I both have a card, for the same £20 + VAT fee.
