Kompressor RPM

I can find in the technical literature that the M271 engine comes with two different pulley ratios for the supercharger drive, 2.3 (C180 and C200) and 2.5 (C230).

The given torque and power graphs range till 6000RPM so if that is the rev limit of the engine, the max RPM of the charger would be 15000RPM for the stock engine of a C230 Kompressor.

I am not aware of any differences between Euro and US market concerning these specs.

As a power upgrade people fit different pulleys and I guess perhaps even chips that extend the RPM range of the engine.

What is commonly accepted as maximum RPM for the charger (p/n A 271 090 20 80) itself?

What is the correct procedure for removing the pulley from the charger?

Thanks,

Jean

I know people who have chipped their 230K's to give them a new rev limit of 6.5k but thats the max i've heard.

Be weary of pulleys as i've heard that they dont have a dampener for the resonant frequencies like the stock pulley and they can give way under high rpm. ASP pulleys from the USA are examples of bad pulleys.
