L Reg 190 2.5D on the Bay.

Those are so slow to accelerate I reckon they are borderline dangerous. I had one & sold it after three weeks, couldn't be doing with the gutlessness of the thing.

It was fine once up to speed, but it just took too long to get there.

It could have been worse :D it could have been a 2L

Once upon a time I was looking at a W123 200D & that was dangerous. It took forever to get up to speed, so long that I thought if I buy this car I'm going to have to re-learn how to drive & wait for huge gaps & allow much extra time when pulling into traffic.

0-60 felt like about 25 long, long seconds.

Had one myself once, loved it. Stuck it in 2nd around town to keep up with the flow. Other wise it was good enough for ponderous me.

I've had one as my daily driver for the last four years a 5 speed manual.

You certainly can't blast off from the lights but once you get to know the car its fine. It's surprising how many cars you do leave behind at the lights and roundabouts etc, as you soon find out most people are not playing the traffic light grand prix!

Its by far the slowest car we have in our stable but I really enjoy driving it. As you say once its up to speed its perfectly fine, easily keeps up with motorway traffic, zips around and through roundabouts and slips in and out of gaps with ease.

Then you add 40-45 mpg and the fact that it just keeps on working and working and working with no fuss or drama what's not to like.

That looks in good order, John.
