Love that!!! Here is my "home" airport. http://www4.passur.com/sjc.html

You work out in Santa Clara then or do you have roots there or something?

Me? I'm sometimes over there for work myself - Usually stay in the Fairmont in San Jose. I like California, but the Santa Clara region is just sprawling suburbia which I am not overly keen on.

Have a look at the one for JFK and zoom out to 80 miles.

I apologise if this is way off topic, but the question keeps bugging me.

I have seen numerous reports of 'fighter' jets escorting passenger aircraft coming into Great Britain or the US.

I have just looked at the link you kindly posted of JFK airport. This airport is practically on the Atlantic coast and incoming passenger aircraft will obviously not deviate from their flight path until over land? They are then into huge built up areas? When and where would a 'fighter' aircraft shoot these planes down?

I would assume the poor military pilot is only going to have two or three minutes at the most to make any constructive, actionable decision?

Sorry if my question is too controversial.

Regards,
John

any ideas why I can't see this link? it keeps popping up a message saying I have no java runtime environment installed when I know that I do - it's there in the control panel and enabled in internet options.

cheers

Andy
