MB CLK 270 CDI Elegance 2003
Hi everyone,

Just recently got a MB CLK270 CDI 2003 and noticed that in every gear I'm in, it pushes well up to 3000rpm but then I put the foot down and power is gone. Is locked at 3000rpm.

I have just done a full service, including changing gearbox oil, car feels smoother & piushing well, but again, nothing after 3000rpm. I'm obliged to put up another gear to power car more.

I been reading some posts, people mention about MAF, Cat, etc...but not consistency about what the problem and solution could be, since it seems to be a "known" issue with these diesels.

Could anyone please give some advices?

Thanks a lot,
Bruno

Most likely your maf.

But get the error codes read with a star compatible code reader.

It'll save you time and money.

Don't just change parts willy-nilly until you cure it.

It sounds to me like your car is electronically putting itself into limp-mode.

There is a good sticky on the front page of this forum covering cdi loss of power issues.

I had this myself not so long ago, but mine would only rev up to 2000rpm

Switching off, removing the key, waiting 2-3 minutes and restarting her cured it
for a short while, but it would soon return.

I removed, cleaned and refitted my maf and it hasn't returned...(yet) :0)

I had a check at the engine to see if I could see where it was located the MAF but couldn't see it...

Could you please help me out (if you know..) wher is located in the attached photos of my car?

Thanks a lot Coruscator.

Thanks carat 3.6!

The black circle cap, with hose?

I thought it was a vertical part, like attached photo.
