Hello all
our year 2000 W210 E240 (2.6 petrol V6) estate has what I can only describe as a lazy brake servo.
When the car is first started in the morning the engine automatically spins about 1200rpm for a minute or so - which it always has so I guess is normal - then drops to 6 or 7 hundred rpm.
The brakes seem to have no servo assistance during this time, and the Missus says the brakes yesterday seem to have less and less servo assistance.
Once the car is warm and driven a short while all seems fine with the brakes - say after a quarter of a mile.
Is it manifold vacuum that operates the servo or is there a vacuum pump?
I will check for split vacuum hose but I guess if there was a split it would be leaking all the time.
Is there any valves or any other parts that need checking on the servo.
Bottom line - can anybody give any suggestions - or has anybody else experienced similar to this
Thanks in advance for any input
Peter.
