Le Mans has been on my list of things to do and in the pub tonight (where all the best decisions are made) I was deputised to organise so I wondered if the learned forum had any experience of visiting Le Mans and what campsites to recommend. Are there packages covering tickets and camping that you might recommend? Hopefully I will have a replacement merc estate by then to transport us in luxury.

Thanks in advance

Paul

We went to Le Mans for the first time this year with Lycian Events, camping very near Porsche curves in Beausejours. Secure campsite, private washrooms, excellent catering, cannot recommend them highly enough. Everything you need (GA tickets, grandstand tickets etc) available through them, a quick google will find their website.
Also have a look at Le Mans Survival Guide - Welcome to Beermountain.com, very useful site.
Edit - forgot to add - not only good food, but also draught bitter and lager at reasonable prices - 4 days in France drinking draught Cornish bitter can't be bad!!
