Le Mans

'Tis true. If you don't cross the finishing line, you are not classified as a finisher - irrespective of how many laps you have completed.

So - a great Le Mans race.

Jorge Lorenzo wins the British GP, with Cal Crutchlow coming through from 20th (and last) to finish 6th.

And it's Father's Day.

Today is a good day. :)

Endurance is the key word. To appreciate Le Mans (and all endurance races) is to understand what a monumental achievement is it to get man and machine to perform - and sometimes merely survive - for such a long period of time under the strains and stresses involved.

Without wanting to sound soft, I always get a bit emotional at the end of the race, purely because I appreciate the sheer scale of the endeavour - regardless of who wins.
Understand entirely, I'm just not sure "endurance"anything makes good TV.
Talking of sounding soft I could have cried today when I lost my ball with mylisat shot of the round on the 18th at Gatton Manor......but as I'm not that soft I didn't!;)

I know little about Moto GP but Cal Crutchlow going from last to 6th with a broken ankle gave me a little lump in my throat!

I hope Anthony Davidson recovers well

At the GP today and the crowed went wild for Cal what an abosolute star, if only he'd waited to a couple of laps into quali before throwing it down the road we would have hd an Englishman on the steps for a first time in years.

A Motorpsort fan who doesn't enjoy le mans?! That's like a football fan getting bored by the world cup. I would take a bet you've never been.
I haven't but I recollect a round of the the World GT series at Donnington that went on for 6 hours.....I guess I'm not that much of a fan, but I used to love the club days at DP with 15 races in a day ranging from Caterhams to Historics to Renault Clios

Ah, a case of insufficient ammo ;)
