Hey up,
So a few days back, during the storm of course. I had to leave the car outside, normally it is garaged so in a way, this is a good thing. But I'm not sure I can see exactly how just yet.
Well, I went to open the boot to chuck something in and noticed that my nice shiny new map of Europe (ready for my road-trip, which got coronavirused) was all wavy and warped.
Had a bit of a feel around and carpet was damp, just above the C.D. player pocket.
Closer inspection revealed that somebody has obviously attempted to solve this problem with some silicon; the seal which sits just to the outside of the lid spring has been fully tacked down.
There is no debris anywhere to generate a damn/weir causing the water to breach the rubber which gets compressed by the lid.
Therefore, I am not somewhat of a loss to understand how the water has got into the boot, without there being any obvious gaps or seams.
Is this a common fault?
Have others had experience of this?
Many Thanks
