Dear All

This is my first post on this forum and I would be most grateful for your expert advice.

The front passenger footwell on my 1999 V reg C220 CDi estate has just developed a bad water leak during rain. A local building site has been convering our cars with building dust for weeks and I suspect that this has blocked the drainage. I have not found any mention of my model on a search of this site, so I would be most grateful for any pointers to find the drainage vents or where the blockage is likely to be.

Thanking you in advance for your kindness

it sounds like your drain on the cabin air intake is blocked up.

If you put the bonnet into the 90 degree position.

Feel down from the black airbox on the passenger side.

There should be a small black pipe going nowhere that has a rubber flap on it.

IF you poke something up there ( such as your finger or something long and thin you should get a rush of water down.

The other thing you will ahve to do it take the panel off under the pass side and in there will be your pollen filter which might be wet This is the long thin box with the slide clips on it. The filter just pulls down once youve taken the cover off it.

You will also have to take the cover off for the blower. There is a small plug on the outside which you ahve to remove and i think its screws and it just pulls down. You should also ahve some debris in there as well. Make sure the blower is dry and then put it all back together.

any problems , post em.

Thanks very much Fuzzer. Sorted!

Found a combination of leaves, water and crumbly cement in the drain! Will investigate the blower/pollen filter as well.
