I've just bought my first Mercedes - a high mileage 99 T plate E 300 TD (theres a thread on it in the general discussion list) and there is a fair amount of condensation in both headlamps.

So what are my options for sorting this
1) Hair dryer every month or so?
2) Open the lamp and reseal?
3) New seal and/or new lens?
4) Whole new unit?

If 4), is there any option for upgrading the standard light without requiring a pile of money. I hear mention of Xenons, but I thought these required 24V wiring.

Any help and advice would be much appreciated. Nice car though - like driving an armchair!

Thanks

Nick

Just to let people know, the headlamps are sold in bits by Mercedes so it is possible to buy just a lens or a seal. You don't have to buy the complete unit.
I havn't tried taking them apart yet, but at least I know its possible now.
