That will be an expensive exercise as they can only be accompanied by a qualified instructor in a dual controlled car, so limited time for the experience which is essential.

A pity really as some of us who are IAM trained observers have had quite a bit of success with children and now grandchildren as well as others (unpaid of course) and would be quite comfortable with m/w training using a hired dual control car.

What do you think?

It's good they'll be able to learn. Sucks if you live somewhere like me where the nearest motorway is an hour's drive away.. and is the M25.
 
As soon as my son passed his test I booked him onto a short course that included motorway and night driving. Worth the money in my opinion.
