lease transfer fees??

i am thinking of buying a small shop,it is on lease and would anyone one know roughly how much the lawers rake in for doing this transfer?thanks in advance

Usual answer is depends, whether it is a straightforward lease or assignment.

If it is a new lease, on a modest rent, I would guestimate £500 - £1,000. If it's an assignment there may be landlords legal and surveyors costs - I recently saw a bill for £3,000, for those costs alone from one of my clients.

Best thing to do is speak to a commercial lawyer in your area, they will give you a guide price. But you will need to give them more detail I suspect!
