Going to have a pop at the leather next week....its the light grey leather in the CLK.

1)Has anyone had a go at doing theirs?
2)How did it go and what products work well?
3)Did it cost the earth?

I'll get some before and after pics on here too.....
if any one else has any i would been keen on seeing them...

Cheers.

looks like good stuff....£30 to do one seat seems a bit pricey though!

I used it just to repair a worn seat bolster so did not need very much but the resulting colour match was absolutely perfect and the seat looks as new.

I used Dynamix as well, got a tiny bottle ( enought for 1 full seat) from Ebay for about £6 ish. Only needed it for a few creases on the bolster, but very happy with the results. You can clean the seats with Methylated spirits ( or white spirit) first and thats cheap enough to buy.

Meths or White Spirit? Aren't both a bit strong? I thought even IPA would be too much.

Or am i wrong?

I think Meths etc would be bad... I would use a product like Gliptone or Zymol to clean leather. Maybe baby wipes if I didn't have proper product :D

The instructions that came with the Dynamix said use Methylated spirit. I has white spirit and so used that instead, it pretty much evaporated the second I wiped it on the seat, but took what litle dirt off that was there. If your at all worried then please use other cleaners, it was fine for me, but I dont want to be responsible for ruining someone elses seats!

Yes, I think the same. My interior is "two tone", as in the seats are a creamy colour and the dash and steering wheel are grey. I don't need two bottles worth of dye!

Ahhh I reckon its okay to use Meths or whatever pre-dying because you need to be aggressive with the surface grease.

But I wouldn't use anything more than a damp cloth before using a cleaner like gliptone.

I used Raceglaze leather cleaner, with their leather brush.

Totally safe, provided you follow the instructions & worked a treat. Obtained mine from Polished Bliss, but you can get them anywhere.

Does any one have any genuine before and after photos of their own interior?

I want to repair some creases on my seats plus a couple of scratches ... would this do the job? before and after photos would be ideal I guess if anyone has them?

Don't use baby wipes before it will leave a residue, petrol, dry cleaning fluid, alcohol (no not the stuff you drink that would be wastefull)
you can be quite harsh you need it to penetrate and stick then you can feed it when its dry.

According to Gliptone, you should not use white spirits on leather; only methylated spirits.

NickyB - how did this go?
