Hi, I've just purchased a high mileage SLK230 and it seems to have lead a hard life in the trim department. It's like the DPO would get bored and pick the leather console whilst parked, or he had a fetish for keys on his left hand side.

That and the worn door handle are all that lets the car down - I'm hoping that I can find a DIY repair kit or worst case a visit from a local trimmer. But any guidance or suggestions gratefully received :)

Just collected my SL today from leather re-finisher. Simple job, done quickly, not dear... Look around where you live but I would suggest a proper workshop rather than someone doing it in situ in the street...

D:class automotive down in Chobham are the masters in MB interior refinishing. They did a complete nappa retrim in my 203.

These guys are highly recommended.

There are systems where you glue a backing under the crack/gap, put a filler in the leather then imprint it with leather pattern before painting it. However, of the three steps, it is the colour matching/painting that would dissuade me from trying.
It would a specialist repairer or internet/phone searching for a second hand replacement for me.
