Or the gorgeous cropped velour, which iirc might have been more expensive than leather.
The original MB-Tex was of course indestructible, and will probably outlast the planet.
It is quite difficult to tell as the grain is very similar. I can definitely tell by touch whether the material is plastic or leather. My mother had a GLA which had a horrible black artico interior - you could definitely feel it was man-made.

I thought the way they manufacture the leather these days leaves it almost odourless, the tanning process was changed as it was highly toxic for the people doing it. So if it states leather on my data card , is it leather? Any one know?
One site said my VIN was invalid, which worried me a little. Another wanted me to download another PDF reader, although the one I currently use works absolutely fine. The 3rd site I tried worked ok.
Lots of information! I'm not sure I'll ever need any of it, but I printed a copy anyway.
Most importantly, I can sleep soundly knowing my leather is leather.
I think that on the C class and GLC there is marked difference in the side bolsters , depending on which type of material the seat is made of. Very easy to spot the difference. Without checking I also think that the leather seats have horizontal pads on the seat back. Just find a C or GLC with a cranberry red interior as this is a leather only colour.
My build sheet says '841A Leather Nappa Anthracite' and '840A LEATHER NAPPA' The car was built in Bremen Germany S203 C55 AMG. And I know the seats are built by a company called LEAR. And yes, the drivers side bolster is cracking nicely thank you
