SLK 200 AMG Sport
I recently purchased a SLK 200 AMG Sport, there is slight damage to the driver's leather seat which I would like to repair if at all possible. The colour code for the leather is Bengal Red 807 A . I would like advice on how to proceed with a repair, and if possible without a need to remove and replace with a new leather patch. I would also welcome details of where in the N.W. England I can take the vehicle to undertake this repair. Leather Seat.jpg

Pretty normal wear. So long as there's no rips you don't need to worry about replacing the leather. Get in touch with Liquid Leather in Chester, send them (or deliver) your head rest. They will make you a bottle of matching leather dye which you will them apply using a sponge (and after cleaning the old bolster). They sell leather cleaners too as well as advise on how to use it all correctly.

Good colour for repair as it's darker than the leather underneath, very light colours are difficult.

I use a kit that I bought from fleebay. Very easy to do. (I also offer this now as part of my detailing business)
The results speak for themselves IMG_20190502_182312.jpg IMG_20190502_182322.jpg
It basically takes the lacquer off the leather allowing you to use the correct colourant with either an airbrush or just dabbing with a sponge. Then you seal it again with clear lacquer.
... OK there's a bit of rubbing with scotchbrite etc. But it's really very easy. You should try it yourself.
Or take a weekend trip up to the Highlands and I'll do it for you. ;)

Alternatively you could have a weekend away in the Highlands and I'll do it for you. ;)

I have a tear in my just bought 2016 c220d seat on the bolster in the same position as above. It seems the artico used on new cars is awful and paper thin. I was considering the possibility of making a "boot" for it. In a carbon effect leather or something, using the existing pieces as templates and putting it one to protect this high wear area.

I don't think that the nice job of recolouring the leather as shown above by Edd1968 would work for me as I think it will tear again - It's in the exact spot where your jeans pocket stud rubs.

I don't know if this is a stupid idea or not.

Any thoughts?

Do you have an eBay link Edd??
