LED and Canbus 639 Viano

Auto dip lights is that they are not on during daylight... Just have the parking lights on functioning as running lights...

So, electric wiring is needed and coding... How complicated is it to fit the wires and who or how is the coding done??

ok... not fully sure what auto dip function is...

Auto dip is just that, main beam auto dip, give it a try and come back.

Exit lights you need

Hi

My lights don't move in any way... if forced to guess i would have to say that perhaps when having a load pressing on the back of the car that perhaps they adjust by themselves... I, much like the rest of viano owners, have a button to lower the lights manually... but auto??? don't even know how to investigate this... any suggestions??
They don't move much like the bi-xenon lights do at startup...

i live in Sweden so i hope i am not "trespassing" too much

Ah Sweden.
My understanding auto lights dips main beam when cars approach.
Is there anything in the cluster menu?

Also tell me more about the chip tuning.

There is nothing in the menus about auto dips main lights.... Mystery.... will ask the MB dealer what that is all about... My lights do not move when meeting oncoming traffic...

Chip tuning is the real deal. KCR.se sells chip tuning to diesel cars. The viano has become a real responsive car after installation. In fact its the fastest car that i have driven. Minimal work in order to connect the KCR box and you are off.. Access requires removing the air box in order to access the terminal but other than that no problems. Highly recommend it.

Have a look at kcr.se

So, driver side installed. passenger side tomorrow :)

So, could anybody help me with the part number for the three plastic clips with metal phillips screw holding the door linear at the bottom?? Managed to damage one..... besides, think its good to replace them... right??

Asked about the dip lights and got no answer back... It seems to be a mystery... The best guess is that they automatically come on when it gets dark... Auto low beam...

No thats just auto lights, you should have loc lighting menu as well, wipers etc.

Try the lights on main beam and see if they dip.
The clips along the bottom of the door, its an odd philips head but it pushes in.
MB parts will help on that, remember fit the stock bulb until you know there working as the leds have a polarity.

Up date on your rear handles, it does have to come out on the later type and you have capless types in there.

Have a Loc.lightning (on/off) menu. Its for helping lights that light up the surrounding. location lightning... It is described so in the swedish manual and when switched off or on it actually does this.... Other menus under lights is Ambient int. lightning (on/off), Headlamps (0s/15s/30s/45s), Daytime driv. lights (on/off) and thats it. No, nothing dips when i blind the oncoming traffic... well perhaps my pride... Have given up on auto dip lights now...

Door lights work well, led are changed. However the reading lights in the back flicker annoyingly every 2s... Anybody have had the same problem? It is only the reading lights that flicker. Same leds in all remain lights. If i switch on more than one reading light they all seem to flicker at the same time. Problems with electricity? Need a capacitor somewhere???

Leds dont dim well, thats the problem, unless you find leds that dim.
Auto lights sounds, well interesting, there is nothing in the hand book about it.
So you have the puddle lights working ok then?
Have you done the over head control and glove box?

Strange thing is that the reading lights dim when the ignition is off. When driving they seem to give full power...and that's when they flicker.. Mind you, while dim with engine off they don't flicker... The led light located 2 cm away from it does not flicker under any circumstances... Strange...

Puddle lights, overhead and glovebox all done.....

So if the lights section is done I shall move to a far bigger problem and project... It is however a different topic and I guess a new thread.. Will post a small hint, need a bit of bas in the car... Not license-plate-vibrating, but just some. My car fully lacks it. Will return in a new thread about this next project.

HI all.
Hi all.
I too have led in everything. ....
I've fitted led in all the inside lights with no issue.
Grab rails....it's easier to just remove the whole unit by undoing the two security screws then remove bulb holders and change the bulbs to led...a good tip is fit cob led bulbs...I ordered 20 double sided ones off Ebay... you'll use 17...covering door's footwells vanerty mirrors the works.
No canbus on puddle lights footwear lights...interior cour test lights map lights and glove box.

I've been battling withe the rear lights...
I fitted everything to led indicator too and fitted 6ohm 100watt resistors from each supply wire down to the brown wire (ground)
But I've had a problem with the canbus not cancelling on any of them.
6ohm to ground ldered in should worked but no...why?
Any suggestions?
Once I've sorted the rear lights out I want to sort the head lights...
There the later type 2011 model with day time running lights. ..

Firstly how can I remove the entire light so I can access it easier?
I was hoping it was jut a signal bolt and pop out....any advice.

Anyway once accessed I was hoping I could change the ballast to 55w from the stock 35w one...anyone tried this ???

Next will be uber bright led side lights....indicators if I can bypass the can bus system.

Lots of mods do to a well tricked up Special edition 3ltv6.

Next on the to do list is election opening boot door.
Kits arrived just got to omehow fit it...

Thanks

Have fitted LED replacements to

Glovebox lamp
Door puddle lamps
Vanity lamps
Trunk lamp

Had no Canbus errors as yet, although when I tried LED in licence plate illumination lamps I did - I had gone for error free bulbs from autobulbs so had to send these back.

I am back on filament bulbs for the licence plate.

I much prefer the look of these LEDs and so am planning to go for changing the 501 s in the overhead console, and the 239s in the grab handle lamps in the passenger compartment.

Does anyone know if the interior circuits are Canbus monitored?

I will try again with the licence plate ones maybe with a higher resistor, and then consider my options for the sidelights - I want these to be E marked but haven't come across any yet that are.
The interior on mine are all led now.
Not canbus monitored and although they don't dim they stay on 5x longer due to the lower current they take
I've leds everything I can sick of ruddy canbus errors and looking for someone who can turn the can bus error messages off.
I know you can on vw cars so wanting mine done I'd anyone knows of anyone.

Funny I don't get canbus on the numberplate but do get it on everything else.

I've tried using block 100watt resistors and sorting out the warning that way but messy to say the least and tbh want less draw current wise not more or same as.
Need all the extra current for the amps on the ICE :)
