As part of a project i am doing for someone i need to use some LED plinth lights.

Now they all seem to come with X amount of cable from the plug to the junction box , and then 5m of cable to each light.

Some of these lights will need to be more than 5m away , some may even be 10m away.

Will it be ok to extend the wire to those lights , do i need to worry about the furthest lights being dimmer through voltage drop over a longer length of wire ?

Thanks in advance

H

You'll be OK to extend the cables.
There will be a little extra voltage drop but probably not so much that you'll want to do something about it. Using heavier gauge cable will help a lot. Generic speaker cable, not the 'magic' £100 per metre stuff, will be more than adequate.

Brilliant , many thanks indeed. :)
