The LED displays are starting to fail W208 CLK 2002
RHS never worked
LHS temp has started to break up

Who fixes these (South Yorks)
Is it a DIY proposition

you mean LCD? They are quite easy to fix. You can get the new ribbons from ebay for around £20. Takes about an hour total. I did mine a good few years ago

Used an AK Speedo kit from Ebay to repair clock and temp displays on a W208, quite easy to do with their instructions and still good 3+ years later.

Always been a bit ham fisted, very dangerous with a screw driver, how does the speedo cluster come out, does the streeing wheel have to be removed, who supplies these ribbons, do they require soldering, only kits I saw on E Bay were for different models.

Depends on what cluster you have but these are similar to what I used (I have the facelift version)

No soldering, steering wheel stays in place. Get down by the lower trim, put your hand up towards the cluster and push it. It is just a press fit with no securing tabs etc

These are the ones I used, but I see from Mark's post that lower price versions are now available.
