Left Mirror, Turn Signal

Hi there,

I have a 2007 C Class (W203) and I received a message on my dash saying "left mirror, turn signal" and when I use my left turn signal, it flashes/clicks quicker than usual.

But when I get out and check it, it works perfectly fine.

Additional info 1: the outside plastic of the turn signal is cracked (and has been for years).
Additional info 2: Mercedes just replaced the mirror on that side a month ago.

What's going on?

It's the wiring loom feeding the wing mirror. One of the wires is broken.

Very common fault when frequently folding/unfolding the mirrors.

It's a DIY job, you can remove the mirror glass and use a soldering iron to fix the broken wire.

This will fix the issue, but given the age of the car, over time more wires will break and you will have to repeat the process again.

So if you are after a 'proper' fix then you will need to have the entire loom replaced.

....and I don't think the fact that it is externally cracked is related.
