Another brave man down. Such devotion and consideration:-

"Earlier this year, he put his medals up for auction to help pay for the upkeep of the Bomber Command Memorial in London.

A day before the auction, they were bought by British peer Lord Ashcroft for £75,000 ($117,000). He donated them to the Museum of Transport and Technology in Auckland."

A few years ago, the Mrs. and I took a week tour through Germany. For me, the high spots were Colditz Castle and the Moehne Dam. After seeing the movies many times, it was truly awe inspiring to just stand there and let the history soak in. What guts all these guys had.

Amazing people and, together with the FEW, we have a very great deal to thank them all for. RIP.

A shame about Cilla but not in the same category IMHO. Slightly biased i suppose because my father was a Para / SAS.

Truly men of greater mettle than us.
