Further to this & this thread, my dealer has officially diagnosed a faulty accelerator pedal. (btw Ollie thinks this is most probable too, had a chat with him today, delightful, helpful chap, wished I lived nearer:eek:)

They have quoted £140 inc vat for supply and install (half an hour labour!! took me 10mins off and on!) including a 10% discount.

My question is do I let them do it and they stand the risk if it in fact not the pedal? Or do I buy it myself (£90 @ Inchcape) and save £50 and about an hour ar$ing around at the dealer sipping warm apple juice and pretending to be interested in the Times while really eying up the AMG'd SL350 a couple of feet away, but too proud to sit in it and wish like I can't afford it:rolleyes:?

Well chaps and chapesses what would you do?

It pains me to say this but I would use the dealer. Why? if the fault re-occurs within 12 months, you have a comeback. Fit it yourself and something goes wrong, you are on your own.
