Mine, it has everything except for distronic, sun roof, cooled seats, rear blinds and massaging seats. I'm not sure if it has linguatronic, how would I tell?

It has heated front and rear seats, H/K surround, 6 CD changer, DVD, obsidian black with black seats and black interior.

Just touched 90K miles. I've had it almost 3 years and have done just over 10K in that time. About 5 round trips from Newcastle to London in that period as well.

No mods.

Work done - Break pump replaced, new battery, new alternator, new track rod ends and suspension ball joints etc. New key and ignition module in the last 2 weeks (over 800 quid), pulley sensor, new parking sensors at the front, D service recently carried out, various other little odd jobs done also.

Its a beast and I love it, although it isn't being used much at all and I will probably be getting rid soon - reluctantly.

If I'm to keep it I may get the calipers done in red and maybe get some other alloys on.

I want to refurb the wheels that are on it at current and also get the stone chips and other age related marks off of the body, been quoted a couple of hundred quid. I'll do this even if I'm selling it. A car should look its best especially if its to be sold. I wouldn't buy a car with curbed wheels and stone chips here and there.

The interior is in mint condition other than a little tear in the driver's seat which my house key did. I'll be getting this done, again whether I sell it or keep it as it irks me.

Apparently MB say for keyless go/entry/start to work properly (it works sometimes) it needs new door handles and they also said the rear brake pipes are corroded and quoted me over 13 hundred quid to do the work.

My indy will be getting it soon, he says they are mental quoting that price and that the pipes shouldn't be so corroded. I await what he says...

Would I recommend a CLS55? Yes, even a beaten up one. They are amazing cars and although they can be expensive with some eye watering repair bills, you have to factor in just what you are getting and when it comes to the pound, you are getting a hell of a lot of car for your money. These were 70K or more new. Now you can get one from 10K to 16K depending on condition. And I personally think they will become a future classic.

My car is 11 years old and looks fresher than some new cars and for me its one of the best looking cars Merc has ever made and its also quite unique in many ways being a 4 door coupe basically.

I get stopped all the time from all kinds of people old and young commenting on my car.

What I love about it is that it is an all kinds of kind of car if you know what I mean. Need to be escorted in luxury? No problem. Need to put some shopping in the huge boot? No problem. Need to leave 911s for dust? No problem. It doesn't look like a car capable of 0-60 in 4.3 seconds but my god it goes.

For me its my dream car, when I first saw it being test driven on Top Gear when I didn't even have a job or even a licence but always loved cars I said after watching it I wanted one and I got myself one as a little pat on the back for turning my life around even though its a mental type of car to own.

Sorry for the long post folks btw!

How much was the retrofit of the Distronic if you don't mind me asking and what else can be retro fitted to these cars? Nice car btw :)

My CLS55.. very basic but only has 61k and drives like a dream, do i regret giving up the extras.. yes and no. But still love it.

Plate in pic has now been removed and is for sale..Got my own plate in now got some german styles ones made i had on my CLK.

Mine has the same alloys as Big Rich's. Will be taking it to MSL show 2moro, so hope to see some of you guys there. Show starts at 10am, might be thre at 12ish myself.

Took it to Haden Mercedes today for MOT.. owner who is a Mercedes mechanic since he could wipe his backside and having worked for merc many years said he aint seen a beter example of a cls, i let him test drive it and he gave it the thumbs up.

Chris I totally agree with you mate. I've owned mine now for over 3 years and it still brings a massive smile every time I get to drive it :)

lovely looking car

image-1240005846.jpg Here's my one. 60k with uprated ic pump. No other mods, although very tempted ;) The car is not fully loaded as I wasn't really bothered as I wanted a low mileage car. When I bought the car it had 32k on it. The spec is near enough standard, silver with black leather interior, Sunroof etc. Still love it to bits, can't see myself getting anything else in the near future as it ticks all my boxes ;)
