Likely power losses...

Hi guys, just out of interest, what do you think could be, if any, the power losses of an engine due to poorly maintained filters and and plugs? My previous car was dynoed at 253hp before and 273hp after being serviced...same dyno...but different days...my current C32 was dynoed at 326hp with very restrictive air filters and original plugs (not very loved)

Power at the wheels was 270hp so not a million miles away from stock wheel figures

I've actually now taken the plunge and ordered a eurocharged s/charger pulley and remap.....so 270atw will be a thing of the past.....now to break it gently to the misses.....

Just a word of advice I would try to get them to send you the file and have a mapping company put the file on locally, if you do have it remotely uploaded please make sure you connect an external power supply to the car at the time (a 12v battery conditioner should be OK). Mine failed and I was left with a blank ecu so in effect no car!
I had to have the ecu removed and the file forced on to a new chip (which are now in very short supply) and then put back in the car. The alternative was to send the ecu to the US for them to do the same.

Ok thanks for the advice! I have a battery charger that has a conditioning side to it so hopefully that should be ok!

How easy is it to replace the pulley?

So.....fitted the pulley which came very quickly.....not the easiest job but got there in the end.....then jerry went to map it and......dodgy cable so i now have to wait for a new one! Grrrr! Cant fault jerry and eurocharged though!

Well thanks to savman for the use of his cable the c32 has now been mapped for the charger pulley.....all i can say is....oh..my..god! :0)

Had a proper chance to have a blast and its a strange sensation! The power delivery is so smooth it doesn't feel hugely faster until you look at the speedo! Coming from turbo charged cars superchargers are very linear rather than full boost and run out of steam....love it

Neil maybe you could right a full review, it would be great to know exactly how it feels. Are you going to get the car dynoed? If and when I get my car done, I don't know weather to go for a crank or supper charger pully. Maybe your thoughts will help.
